Jim Chapman Communities has been named “55+ Builder of the Year” for 2018 by the 55+ Housing Industry Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The Best of 55+ Housing Awards are the industry’s only national awards program honoring excellence in building design, marketing and lifestyles in housing for the mature adult. The awards showcase quality housing, innovation and emerging trends across the country that appeal to the 55 and above demographic.

The award recognizes Jim Chapman Communities as metro Atlanta’s premier 55+ homebuilding company, with a number of active adult communities under development throughout the Atlanta area, including Buckhead, Vinings, Cobb County, Forsyth County, North Fulton and Cherokee Counties. The firm was founded by Atlanta native Jim Chapman specifically to serve the active 55+ market. A Certified Professional Home Builder, Chapman is deeply committed to the success of the U.S. home building industry and devotes his time to local, regional and national industry organizations. He served as the Chair of NAHB’s 55+ Housing Industry Council and is currently serving as the Vice- Chair of the NAHB’s Land Development Committee for 2018. Chapman is the Founding Chairman of the ALL Home Program, a voluntary statewide certification created by the Home Builders Association of Georgia to promote accessibility and universal design. He is currently the 2018 President of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association
